OMEMO & OpenPGP

Accuracy & Trust Disclosures
Encryption depends on the conversation and setup; encryption is not automatically implied for all chats without negotiation. Unencrypted fallbacks are visibly marked.
The app lock protects app launch, but does not encrypt the SQLite database or raw files on device storage. We advise enabling full-disk Android system encryption.
Message expiry removes local copies from this device; it does not erase server archives or recipients' local data once delivered.
Optional AI-powered messaging tools.
Translate messages, catch up on group chats, receive scam warnings, and get suggested replies. Features are off by default; scam warnings and replies can send message text automatically after you opt in.
AI Message Translation
Ask Zungvi AI to translate a message into your language. The message text is sent to the service when you request a translation.
AI Catch-Up Summaries
Ask for a summary of what you missed in a busy group chat. The relevant messages are sent to Zungvi AI when you request it.
AI Scam Warnings
When enabled, checks the first message from someone outside your contacts for likely scams. That message is sent to Zungvi AI automatically.
AI Suggested Replies
Get short reply ideas when you open a chat waiting on your response. When enabled, recent message text is sent to Zungvi AI automatically.
AI Privacy and Consent
AI features are off by default. When enabled, the text they need is sent in plaintext to Zungvi AI, where it can be read; end-to-end encryption no longer covers that text. Translation and Catch up run when you ask, while scam warnings and suggested replies can send text automatically when triggered. You can turn these features off in settings.

Federation is powerful, but heterogeneous networks have nuances. Here is what to expect.
Server Support Varies
Abuse reporting and modern messaging capabilities depend on your chosen XMPP server's supported XEPs. While Lisolo implements current standards, older community servers may lack modern push notification (XEP-0357) or HTTP upload modules.
Experimental Group Calls
Group calls are experimental: interoperability across all clients has not been verified, and the initial peer-to-peer mesh supports up to 5 participants. Full SFU bridging is slated for upcoming versions.
